I am not a beauty freak. My beauty regime consists of cleaning my face, putting on day cream or a night serum. All of them are natural products from Dr. Hauschka. When it comes to makeup, I only have one liquid foundation and a compact powder together with their brushes; one creamy blush-on and one eyebrow kit. Heck, I don’t even use mascara. I have two shades of lipstick and nail polishes; red and natural. So you see, I am..um..minimalistic.
Once in a while though, I am in love with certain colors. That I don’t buy cosmetic on a regular basis allows me to do occasional splurge.
This Spring, I am in love with this color, Wine, when everybody else is wearing pastel shades. I wasn’t quite sure at first how the colors will look on me, so I refused to spend some bucks on another pricey Dior nail polish or YSL lipstick and decided to try out cheaper brands. Boy oh boy they surprised me!
I choose Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days number 287 called Midnight Red (cost around 6 euro). The brush is fantastic! Easy to apply and the color popped wonderfully. I topped them off with my Dior Top Coat, as I am writing this, I am on day 5, and the color still stays beautifully.
The lipstick was a recent find from L’Oreal Color Riche Matte number 349 called Paris Cherry (cost around 10 euro) First, it smells amazing! Second, it’s creamy texture feels amazing on your lips, even though it will give you the matt effect at the end. Last and most important of all, it is soo long lasting, especially if you use a primer beforehand.
Not sure if this color with stay with me, or upgrade itself to be one of my essential products. Maybe. In the meantime, I love the Wine and love looking fine!
